Hollywood kicked off the awards season this Wednesday, February 3 with the announcement of the nominations for the 78th Golden Globes.

The trophies awarded by the foreign press inaugurate a belated season of awards turned upside down by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The rewards will be presented on February 28, at a virtual ceremony from Beverly Hills, nearly two months behind the usual schedule.

So streaming platforms and female directors are racing ahead of the Golden Globe nominations.

also competing for the best actress trophy.

Among the five nominees for the Best Director category this year are three directors (Chloe Zhao, Emerald Fennel and Regina King) and two directors (David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin).

Until this 78th edition, only five women had managed to get a place in this major category of the Golden Globes, often decisive event for the Oscar race.
