The family of singing legend Tony Bennett revealed that he suffers from Alzheimer's disease, four years after he was diagnosed with the disease.

His wife Suzanne told AARB magazine in an interview published the day before yesterday that the 94-year-old singer, owner of the famous song "I Left My Heart, San Francisco" is losing his ability to make decisions.

The magazine and Bennett's media agent stated that he recorded a new album, in cooperation with pop star Lady Gaga, which is expected to be released this year, despite being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016.

The album was recorded between 2018 and 2020.

The album is an extension of another collaboration between them, called "Check To Check", which was released in 2014.

AARB magazine said video footage of the album's recording sessions featured Gaga and Bennett, who sang in a great voice but at times appeared distracted and disoriented.

"Gaga watched him from behind the loudspeaker, her smile turned into a shiver and her eyes sparkled, before she put her hands on her face and cried," the magazine added.

Bennett, who won 18 Grammy Awards, began his career in the 1950s.

His wife said that his "condition is getting increasingly worse."
