The International Games Festival is usually crowded (Archives) -

More than 110,000 people gathered at the Palais des Festivals… it won't be this time.

If the 2020 edition of the Cannes International Games Festival could have been held from February 21 to 23 just before the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in France, the 2021 edition will not take place.

But the demonstration decided to "keep the celebration of the Golden Aces in virtual on Thursday, February 25," say the organizers on Tuesday.

"The evolution of the international health crisis linked to Covid-19 no longer allows us to organize the Games Festival in 2021, including in the form of an exclusively" professional trade fair, it is recalled on the official website of the demonstration.

Twelve games competing for three prizes

By maintaining, at least, the attribution of its three prizes ("all public", "child" and "expert"), "the International Games Festival supports the playful world", further advance its organizers.

Twelve titles are still in competition this year.

This palm of the game, a prize eagerly awaited by French professionals in the sector and by fans, "rewards the best board games published and distributed in France over the past year", recalls the center of Congress.
