After the refusal of three federations of the CFCM (French Council of Muslim Worship) to sign the charter of principles for the Islam of France which clearly takes a position against political Islam, the rectors of the mosques of Lyon and Villeurbanne Kamel Kabtane and Azzedine Gaci contested the lack of prior consultation.

The sociologist specializing in religion and Islam

Omero Marongiu-Perria

analyzes this new crisis.

Among the non-signatories of the charter, two Franco-Turkish federations: the Coordination Committee of Turkish Muslims in France (CCMTF) and Millî Görüs.

The first is an emanation of Dinayet, the Turkish Ministry of Religious Affairs, the second is the French branch of this ultranationalist confederation close to the Muslim Brotherhood.
