A giant squid, the giant squid, that lives in the deep sea was found ashore at a fishing port in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, and the video was released.

The giant squid, which is 4 meters and 10 centimeters long and weighs 170 kilograms, was found ashore by a local fisherman at the Inome fishing port in Izumo City on the 26th.

According to the Shimane Prefecture Aquarium, which was contacted and investigated, the giant squid does not have a part called a "tentacle" that catches prey, and if it remains, it is estimated that it was about 6 meters long.

When it was found, it was so weak that it was difficult to release it, so it was frozen and stored in the aquarium.

The giant squid is said to live mainly in the Pacific Ocean, and it is believed that it was washed away to the Sea of Japan side along the Tsushima Current.

Ryota Ishikawa of the aquarium "Aquas", who is familiar with the ecology of the giant squid, said, "I want to use the specimen as a valuable clue to elucidate the ecology of the giant squid."
