Building a decade-long dream team is no small feat.
The very serious International Federation of Football History & Statistics (
IFFHS
), an organization of historical and statistical studies on football, has nevertheless tried this perilous exercise in recent days.
After the 11 ideals on the world stage and in South America, the IFFHS unveiled those for Africa, men and women.

For men
, all the African players of the year for ten years have been present: from the Ivorian Yaya Touré to the Algerian Riyad Mahrez in midfield, including the Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang, the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Senegalese Sadio Mané in attack.
Two Marc Vivien Foé Prizes are also included: the Nigerian Vincent Enyeama in the cage and the Ghanaian André Ayew at the baton.
Finally, in defense, the IFFHS put the Moroccan Mehdi Benatia and the Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly in the center, with the Egyptian Ahmed Fathi on the right and the Ivorian Éric Bailly on the left.
The presence of the latter, who is not a side by trade, is perhaps the only big surprise.

Among women
, the Nigerians, with 4 players including the superstar Asisat Oshoala, are logically well represented, even if the Cameroonians of Gaëlle Enganamouit are on an equal footing with them.
A selection completed by the charismatic South African Janine van Wyck, the subtle Ghanaian Elisabeth Addo and the Malawian Tabitha Chawinga.
