A Heritage Council for Contemporary Crafts, affiliated to the Nama Foundation for the Advancement of Women, in cooperation with the Italian luxury jewelry brand, Bulgari, organized a dialogue session entitled “Sustaining the Cultural Act through Intangible Heritage and Architecture”, which came within a series of virtual sessions organized by the Council with the aim of researching and discussing practices of documenting cultural heritage And share knowledge related to it.

The session was attended by the Minister of Culture and Youth, Noura Bint Muhammad Al Kaabi, the Director of the Nama Foundation for the Advancement of Women, Reem Bin Karam, the Executive Director of the Bulgari Company, Jean-Christophe Baban, the Director of Arts and Culture Programs at the Saudi Royal Commission, Noura Al-Dabal, and the Head of Architectural Affairs. At the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Noura Al-Sayeh-Holtrop, the session was moderated by Fatima Dimas, Senior Executive - Project Research and Documentation at the Heritage Council.

Noura Al Kaabi said: “The UAE is making great efforts to preserve its cultural heritage to ensure its sustainability and transfer to future generations, and to inform the world about its privacy and mission through a set of initiatives, policies and legislation.”

She added, "The beauty of these traditions is the process of preserving them through continuous cultural practice, rather than being confined to museums, and my heritage experience is one of the distinctive evidence of these efforts."

Reem bin Karam affirmed that Sharjah's strategy is based on investing in human capital to enhance the necessary infrastructure and preserve heritage, and indicated that a heritage council has succeeded in presenting the vision of Sharjah and the UAE by combining traditional and contemporary elements that help preserve the distinct identity of Emirati crafts. While enhancing its attractiveness on the global level.

She added, "In a heritage council, we have developed a comprehensive and integrated approach to organizing efforts to preserve our tangible and intangible heritage."

Noura Al-Sayeh-Holtrop stopped at the heritage preservation projects in Bahrain, foremost of which is the "Pearling Path" project, in addition to the role of architecture in combining tangible and intangible heritage, which she described as "two sides of the same coin."
