In Suginami-ku, Tokyo, a 65-year-old employee was dismissed from disciplinary action for illegally obtaining a salary of about 2.5 million yen by applying for false working hours for nearly two and a half years.

The disciplinary dismissal was a 65-year-old chief-level employee working in the Suginami Ward Children's and Family Affairs Department.

According to Suginami Ward, this employee illegally corrected attendance records by using the authority to manage attendance records, even though he was actually absent, late, and leaving early for nearly two and a half years until September last year. I was doing it or applying for false overtime hours.

When I checked the work situation within the department because the work of the staff was delayed in September last year, the illegally obtained salary amounted to 2.56 million yen because the fraud was discovered.

The staff admitted fraud to the ward's interview and returned the full amount.

According to Suginami Ward, this staff member was working alone at the office where he was sent, so in the future, the ward will reoccur by checking the attendance record with two or more people. We are trying to prevent it.

Mayor Ryo Tanaka of Suginami Ward commented, "I am deeply apologized for not being allowed as a civil servant as a whole minister, and for greatly damaging the trust of the inhabitants of the ward."
