A prison supervisor in Ajaccio (Southern Corsica) was arrested on Friday and indicted on Tuesday for in particular "corruption" and "drug trafficking", we learned Wednesday from the prosecution.

"Several detainees informed us that guards and more particularly a supervisor were involved in the introduction of extremely varied objects into the remand center", said the prosecutor of the Republic of Ajaccio, Carine Greff, confirming information from Corse-Matin.

The numerous hearings carried out within the framework of this investigation entrusted to the judicial police resulted in the arrest of a supervisor, and the latter “admitted having introduced a certain number of objects at the request of the detainees within the prison. remand center ”, added the prosecutor.

"Searches" were carried out on Friday in the establishment, which has about thirty supervisors and 45 employees in total, and made it possible to find elements confirming the suspicions of the investigators, the same source said.

The supervisor, also indicted for "delivery of illicit objects to detainees", was remanded in custody at the Borgo prison (Haute-Corse), near Bastia, said the prosecution, stressing that information judicial process was opened and entrusted to an investigating judge.
