The French pharmaceutical company Sanofi plans to fill more than 100 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine by the end of the year, which was developed by its competitors Pfizer and Biontech.

"In our plant in Frankfurt we will pack the product that will be delivered to us by Pfizer-Biontech from July," said Sanofi General Director Paul Hudson of the newspaper "Le Figaro".

"We should be able to deliver more than 100 million cans by the end of the year, destined for the European Union, and therefore some of them for France," said Hudson.

"With our main vaccine a few months behind schedule, we wondered how we could make ourselves useful now," continued Hudson.

The filling of the vaccine must take place in a sterile environment and at a very low temperature.

Sanofi wants to do that on a large scale.

Since the Sanofi production facility is located near the Biontech headquarters in Mainz, that will make things easier.

Sanofi wants to continue working on its own vaccines.

Most recently it became known that the vaccine development of Sanofi and GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) was delayed.

"We're aiming for a launch in the last quarter of the year," Hudson confirmed earlier.

Be confident.

The first results on dosage and effectiveness are expected to be received in May, after which large-scale tests can begin.
