On January 19, civil investigators from the Berlin criminal police arrested their colleague when he tried to sell the stolen smartphone at an S-Bahn station.

A suspected accomplice of the police officer, who had been reported sick for a long time, was arrested in Bamberg.

The criminal police and the Bamberg public prosecutor's office had investigated intensively: According to this, on January 14th, the two men stole a cell phone from a woman in the Bamberg district that she wanted to sell on the Internet.

The perpetrators escaped in a bright Mercedes.

That same evening, the men in the Schweinfurt area stole a BMW worth 18,000 euros by pretending to want to buy the car.

A few hours later they broke into the jewelry store in downtown Bamberg.

The criminal police found the men indirectly through the stolen cell phone.

The police received information from the operator of the sales portal.

She was able to arrest the policeman when he finally tried to hand over the stolen cell phone after it was sold online at the Westhafen S-Bahn station in Berlin.

The second alleged perpetrator was arrested in his apartment in Bamberg.

The police also found numerous pieces of jewelry from the jewelry store there.

Both men are in custody.
