At the end of the year, the export demand momentum from the Mainland and Hong Kong was longer than expected, which led to a monthly increase of about 3% in December cargo.

The average load factor of 80.3% in December is the highest monthly average in 2020.

In addition, Cathay Pacific also pointed out that the cargo performance of Northeast Asia and Southwest Pacific is also encouraging, especially in handling priority and special cargo needs.

Cathay Pacific initially assessed that due to the new regulations, it may reduce the current passenger capacity by about 60% and freight capacity by about 25%; the monthly operating cash consumption will increase from the current approximately HK$1 to 1.5 billion, and an additional HK$300-400 million.
