FDP leader Christian Lindner has sharply criticized the actions of the federal government in the corona crisis.

In a talk with "Bild", Lindner said: "This is a government failure - and even with a certain resolution."

The government had rejected his party's proposals for months.

With this, Lindner alluded to the FFP2 mask requirement and an expansion of the test strategy.

It is now a "national effort necessary to protect the risk groups".

Lindner also called the situation at schools and daycare centers “symptomatic for the whole country”.

“We have been focusing on the closure for months.

We have to make a vaccination offer faster because they are also very relevant to the system, "" Bild quoted the politician as saying.

“We have to think about how we can make face-to-face teaching possible with innovative solutions.

(...) We have to open the schools as soon as possible. "

The stricter German entry rules for commuters from the Czech Republic have met with criticism in the neighboring country.

Since Sunday, cross-border commuters have had to present a negative corona test every time they drive to Germany, which must not be older than 48 hours.

The background is the classification of the Czech Republic as a high-risk area.

Only in Saxony two tests per week are sufficient.

The life of cross-border workers and their families is made more difficult, said Jan Triska from the Czech Commuter Association (APCR).

Those who can afford it will look for a new job in the Czech Republic.

For many, however, it is about their existence.

“The uncertainty is huge,” said Triska.

Many are of the opinion that the tightening is politically motivated.

"The politicians in Germany are blaming the unfavorable Corona situation on the commuters, on the Czechs, even if there is no relevant data," said the representative of the interest group.
