At the kick-off on the third and final day of the group stage this Sunday, January 24, Cameroon, host country, Mali and Burkina Faso could claim a place in the quarter-finals, while Zimbabwe was already eliminated. .

Striker Demba Diallo very quickly, facing goal and with his right foot, allowed the Malians, on an assist from defender Moussa Ballo, to take the advantage against Zimbabwe (11th).

Mali could settle for a draw to open the doors to the quarter-finals.

It will be the only goal of the evening in this group A.

After their initial victory against the Warriors (1-0), Cameroon had drawn against Mali (1-1).

Tonight, at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé, the Cameroonians had to make sure to take at least one point against Burkina Faso, who had won the first victory in their history in the competition against Zimbabwe (3-1).

If the locals were sometimes jostled, they held on, without really convincing and especially without finding the net.

Cameroon's attack will have to rely on Jacques Zoua, who remained on the bench, during the next Lions A 'meeting.
