Céphaz, 27, revealed by

Since you

, released last summer, will try his luck with

On a mangé le soleil

.

A song that under its happy tunes speaks of overconsumption.

How did you come to music?

I have been making music since I was little.

I was born in Ghana, I watched my father play his traditional guitar which he had made himself.

I was amazed, it grabbed me and I started singing because it made me happy.

In Ghana, I used to listen to traditional music, afro pop, groove.

When I was adopted at 9 by my French parents, I moved to Cape Town (South Africa).

There I discovered another culture, other music, like that of the South African artist Brenda Fassie.

When I was 18, we moved to Mayotte.

This is where I started to learn the French language.

And two years later, I moved to Saint-Etienne where I continued to make music.

How would “We ate the sun” be a good representative of France at Eurovision?

It's a pretty groovy song, which makes you dance.

She is joyful and she carries a deep message, not moralizing, on overconsumption, which concerns us all and deserves to be shared.

Eurovision would be the perfect opportunity.

What can we expect with your performance in "Eurovision France"?

I insisted a lot with my team that it be colorful.

I will be surrounded by musicians to bring the groove of the song to life.

If I say "Eurovision", which song or artist do you spontaneously think of?

Amir.

I discovered Eurovision in 2019, with the participation of Bilal Hassani.

I didn't know about the competition before.

I only found out after Amir had participated in Eurovision with

I Searched

, I was surprised.

Apart from your participation in "Eurovision France", do you have other projects?

I have an album coming out.

There are no specific dates yet.

The songs will talk about love, social issues, my loved ones, personal situations… There are songs that are more relaxed, others more energetic, while trying to keep melodies a little bit Anglo-Saxon.
