After a fatal knife attack in Ranstadt, a 16-year-old was taken into custody.
A spokesman for the Giessen public prosecutor said on Friday that he was being investigated for manslaughter.
A 17-year-old who was also arrested at first was released because there was no longer any urgent suspicion against him.
The prosecutor assumes that the 16-year-old German attacked an 18-year-old with a knife in an argument on Wednesday evening in the area of a school in Ranstadt (Wetteraukreis).
The victim was injured in the upper body and died.
A custody order was issued against the suspect youth on Thursday evening, the spokesman said.
Further details about the incident were initially not known.
