The next health

workers to

receive the

Covid-19

vaccine

after those on the "front line" will be

Primary Care

professionals

and dental, dental hygiene personnel and other health personnel who attend without a mask for more than 15 minutes.

This is established in update 2 of the

Vaccination Strategy

approved this Thursday by the

Public Health Commission

and known this Friday, and which recalls that in the first stage of vaccination, which has not yet concluded, are residents and health personnel and social health workers who work in nursing homes for the elderly and care for large dependents as well as front line personnel in the health and social health field.

Other health and social health personnel are also included, as well as people considered large dependents who are not institutionalized.

The next group to be vaccinated in the next stage is that of people over 80 years of age, who will begin "to be vaccinated in the shortest time possible and depending on the availability of vaccine doses."

Health and social health personnel that are not included in

stage 1

may be vaccinated in

stage 2

as a priority, within the categories "essential front-line personnel" or "other essential personnel".

The two-dose schedule will also be maintained in the populations that are being vaccinated, administering the second as soon as possible after 21 days in the case of

Pfizer

and as soon as possible in the case of

Moderna's

vaccine

after 28 days.

The complete vaccination schedule will be carried out with the same brand of vaccine.

The ethical justification of the prioritization carried out is based on the principles of necessity, equity and reciprocity, which advise prioritizing within each of the groups to vaccinate the people who are most exposed to the risk of becoming ill (health and social health workers most exposed) and those who are hospitalized the most and die.

The document of this update also highlights the criterion of "solidarity" so that all efforts are focused on all those who may see their health most affected or are more exposed to the virus.
