Two areas, Yamagata and Gifu prefectures, have been newly designated as "priority support areas" where the government provides financial support to areas aiming for reorganization and integration of public hospitals.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has designated areas where there are few medical records such as public hospitals or hospitals with similar functions nearby so that areas suffering from a shortage of doctors can provide medical care as efficiently as possible. We are supporting the reorganization and integration of medical institutions.

Twelve areas nationwide have been designated so far, but on the 22nd, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare newly designated the Okitama area in Yamagata prefecture and the Tono area in Gifu prefecture.

In the future, aiming to reorganize and integrate five medical institutions in two regions, we will increase subsidies to hospitals with reduced beds, and will be in charge of coordinating opinions between hospitals and explaining to residents. It means dispatching people.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will continue to solicit priority support areas and will gradually designate them.
