[Explanation] The new crown pneumonia epidemic continues to raging in Hong Kong.

On January 20, the Hong Kong Infection Control Center of North Lantau Hospital, a "temporary hospital" built by the central government in Hong Kong, announced its completion.

A few days ago, a reporter from China News Agency visited the Hong Kong Temporary Hospital at the Hong Kong Asia World Expo.

On this land of almost 30,000 square meters, we have built a building of 44,000 square meters.

The ward area is divided into six wards, providing a total of 136 negative pressure isolation wards with 816 beds.

[Explanation] It is reported that the hospital has adopted MiC negative pressure isolation wards for the first time in Hong Kong history.

Except that there is no operating room in accordance with the needs of the Hospital Authority, temporary hospitals are similar to those of regular hospitals for infectious diseases, and can treat severely infected patients.

Behind me is the MiC negative pressure isolation ward of Athena No. 3 developed by China State Construction International Medical. The decoration inside is made of anti-fouling and easy-to-clean materials, and also uses non-contact interlocking airtight doors. The window is anti-virus with ultraviolet light.

The entire sewage and drainage uses double-row pipes, and the entire exhaust air is discharged more than three meters above the roof, and passed through an efficient air filter, which can effectively kill 99.97% of the virus.

[Explanation] As one of the most demanding links in the design and construction of the entire project, the negative pressure isolation ward must meet multiple acceptance standards to be delivered smoothly.

Under the leadership of the staff, the reporter walked into one of the wards to find out.

Through the automatic airtight door behind us, we entered the front room of the negative pressure isolation ward of Athena III.

The front room is where the medical staff put on protective clothing before entering this ward (place).

Through the second airtight door, we entered the ward, which is a negative pressure isolation ward for six people.

Opening this door, we entered the bathroom, the bathroom is made of easy-to-clean materials, all sewage and drainage are used after the water type, effectively avoiding the accumulation of bacteria.

[Explanation] In addition to meeting strict sanitation and epidemic prevention requirements, many details in the ward also highlight the humanized design of the temporary hospital.

For the first time in a Hong Kong hospital, a non-medical charging USB socket and a C-slot socket were used. Because more patients now prefer to use mobile phones, we have adopted some humane measures like this, which are effective The emergency plug-in of the patient using the bedside integrated slot is avoided, and medical accidents are also avoided.

The second is that we set up an exhaust vent at the bedside of each patient, because this ward has 12 fresh air changes per hour. We also hope that such an environment can make patients safer.

[Explanation] The project was formally signed on September 18, 2020, and was undertaken by China State Construction International Group.

During the peak period of the project, the number of workers was nearly 4,000, and construction was started 24 hours a day, with tight schedules, many machinery, and frequent crossover operations.

In order to ensure the safety of the construction site, the project team used intelligent systems to track personnel safely.

In fact, it is based on the helmets of our workers on the construction site, where there is a sensor behind it, it will know which zone each worker has gone to.

If you contract this pneumonia, it will know which workers are together, then we can respond and isolate these workers.

[Explanation] It is reported that this project is one of the central aid projects in Hong Kong's fight against the epidemic, and it was specifically constructed by Shenzhen City.

The project is under the unified leadership of the special class of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

The governments of Shenzhen and Hong Kong formed a Shenzhen-Hong Kong joint working group, and each set up a dedicated work team to coordinate and solve related problems. This is the first time in the construction of a project in Hong Kong.

In the view of 62-year-old Zhang Dehua, participating in the construction of this important project during a special period is not only a challenge but also an honor for him.

Time is very tight. We only have (less than) four months to complete this project, which usually takes two to three years.

I am very grateful to the central government for supporting us in Hong Kong to build this temporary hospital so that we can overcome this epidemic as soon as possible when this epidemic is dangerous.
