The Albi racing circuit.

For several years, they have stepped up to denounce the noise pollution generated by the Albi racing circuit.

The legal action of the association of residents of the Autodrome d'Albi Le Séquestre (Aras), as well as of the “neighborhood noise reduction” association, has just been concluded.

The police court condemned the company DSEvents, manager of the Tarn site, for several noise-related offenses.

Between fines, damages and legal costs, those responsible for the circuit will have to pay more than 75,000 euros.

During the hearing, the prosecutor went further asking more than 450,000 euros for the 44 civil parties and the 58 offenses retained.

Other complaints

For the Aras, this condemnation is only the beginning, the nuisances have not stopped since.

"We have filed a complaint every month since April 2020, so there are 199 offenses to come before the court, plus those for the months of November and December for which we do not yet have a sonometric statement", indicates the association on its page Facebook.

It asks the Prefecture to draw "all the lessons from this court decision, by taking the appropriate administrative measures, including the suspension of activities if necessary".

A conviction that raised many comments and criticisms from supporters of motor racing on social networks, some highlighting the presence of the circuit long before the arrival of homes.
