Implemented since Monday, the vaccination of people over 75 years old would arouse "strong support" in the Pays-de-la-Loire region.

So much so that requests can no longer be honored.

None of the 32 vaccination centers opened in the region have any appointments!

Worse, these centers are full for the next four weeks, announces this Wednesday the regional health agency (ARS).

A problem which is due to the "strong demand" but especially to the limited stock of vaccine available.

“People who have not been able to register must be patient.

There will be new deliveries of vaccine and new vaccination centers will then open ”, assures Jean-Jacques Coiplet, director of the ARS of Pays-de-la-Loire, well aware of the growing discontent.

New slots, allowing appointments to be made in mid-February, could be added early next week, assesses the ARS.

Already 30,000 vaccinated

The Pays-de-la-Loire has had a stock of 61,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine since early January, according to figures released by the authorities.

Half of this stock has already been used since nearly 30,000 caregivers at risk and people aged over 75 have been vaccinated.

“All doses will be used, we are extremely vigilant on this.

As for the Moderna vaccine, it should not be available in Pays-de-la-Loire before the end of January at the earliest.

The ARS of Pays-de-la-Loire had set itself the objective of being able to vaccinate 50,000 to 60,000 people by the end of January.
