When talking about his first half of his life, the 65-year-old Wang Xinfu always shed tears.

He is a former poor household in Lianxing Village, Gonghe Township, Ledu District, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, Northwest China.

After the elder sister got married, only Wang Xinfu and his younger brother were left in the family. "Even if the elder sister is married, she still worry about our food and drink."

"If you don't have food, you can use it; if you don't have money, you can use it," Wang Xinfu said. "I borrow it this year and pay it next year."

Mending the seams, the three of them had a very difficult life. "Without my parents, I have never read a book."

Even if he is no longer in the same age group, the experience of "post-50s" Wang Xinfu made Qi Weiyu, an entrepreneur of "post-80s" who went to condolences to Wang Xinfu's family, also feel the same.

"Our family is also in the mountains. Thinking about it now, the difficulties in all aspects were really terrifying." Qi Weiyu's hometown was in Canglingding Village, Shoule Town, Ledu District. "Draught water; my brother and I went to carry water; do homework. , First have to help the parents who do farm work finish the meal; put on clothes and change the old clothes of the aunts to make do with."

His father was a mason and his mother was an ordinary rural woman. Qi Weiyu said that the crops grown at home would not sell much for a year, and the family could not even pay for their books.

Qi Weiyu, who can endure hardship, said that when she was in school, "I always thought that running home could help my parents do more farm work. But I also wondered how to study hard and walk out of the mountains, otherwise I would never be able to turn over."

In the end, she was admitted to Lanzhou University, a 985 college. In the eyes of outsiders, she was "a golden phoenix flying out of the mountains."

Qi Weiyu told a reporter from Chinanews.com that he is not actually the best among his peers in the village. “There is an older brother in the village. His family is poorer than mine, but he still passed the top university in Beijing.”

After working, Qi Weiyu still worked hard and worked in the civil construction industry for two years before starting his own business.

"I want to wait until I am able to help more folks in my hometown."

Not long ago, Qi Weiyu, who had a certain amount of savings, founded the "Gelvshi" beauty salon and announced that he would give free haircuts to the elderly, children and sanitation workers in the district every Tuesday.

Others quickly persuaded Qi Weiyu to stop there, because these people are not a small number.

"Every time I give love, I feel happy and fulfilled." Qi Weiyu said, "Charity is not imagination, but love and action."

Gao Yongxing, a 36-year-old hair stylist, returned to his hometown of Ledu from the field, "Qi Weiyu's philosophy of serving his family is different from others."

Since the fight against poverty, Qi Weiyu’s hometown, Canglingding Village, has become a “model village” for poverty alleviation, and many people have even driven cars.

As of the end of 2019, the per capita disposable income of the entire village was 14,210 yuan, of which the per capita disposable income of the poor households with registered cards was 10,108 yuan.

And Canglingding Village is just the epitome of the poverty alleviation in Haidong City, Qinghai Province, the province with the largest poverty area, the most impoverished population, and the deepest poverty level.

Now, Wang Xinfu's family has long been lifted out of poverty and has no worries about food and drink.
