The Guineans have started in the best way possible this sixth African Nations Football Championship (CHAN 2020), this January 19, 2021 in Limbé.

In a timidly filled stadium, restrictions due to Covid-19 oblige, the West Africans animated the game against weak Namibians.

From the first minutes, the Guineans put pressure on the opposing goal, with great reinforcements of imprecise set pieces.

A sterile domination which however results in an opening of the score signed Yakhouba Barry in the 13th minute: 1-0.

A goal which however owes a lot to the enormous error of Heita Emmanuel.

While his goalkeeper Edward Maova throws back to him 23, the defender indeed returns the ball too softly.

Barry then throws himself on the ball and scores from close range.

The second goal of Sily National is, however, of a different ilk.

Just before the break, Moralaye Sylla concludes a rapid counter-attack by transplanting in the axis and by sending a superb curled shot: 2-0, 45th + 2.

Barry's double

In the second half, the Brave Warriors try to reverse the trend.

But the porter Moussa Camara and his rear guard are watching.

And, in the 85th minute, Yakhouba Barry signed the double with a cross shot badly deflected by Edward Maova: 3-0.

As a result, the Guinean selection takes the lead in Group D just ahead of Zambia who beat Tanzania 2-0 on Tuesday.

Zambians and Guineans will clash on January 23, still in Limbé.
