A private railway in Shizuoka Prefecture, Oigawa Railway, presented junior high school students who are preparing to take the high school exam with non-slip sand used when the locomotive goes up the hill as a talisman to prevent it from slipping on the exam.

This is done by the Oigawa Railway, which runs in the mountains of central Shizuoka Prefecture, at four junior high schools along the railway line every year at this time of year.

Of these, SL drivers visited Kanaya Junior High School in Shimada City on the 19th, and about 160 third-year students were asked to test the sand that was sprinkled on the railroad tracks so that the wheels would not slip when the locomotive climbed the slope. I gave it as a talisman to prevent it from slipping.

At the same time, Gomaki is also given, and after the students write their wishes, they hit the locomotive kettle to pray for the fulfillment of their prayers.

Mr. Hiroyuki Sakashita, a SL driver, encouraged me, "Please do your best so that you can fully demonstrate your strength in the exam."

The girl student said, "I am very happy. I will do my best to pass the school of my choice."
