"Hello world, is this on?", Wrote social media platform Parler's founder John Matze this weekend, writes the news agency Reuters.

Just over a week ago, Apple shut down Parler's app from the App Store, shortly after Google removed it from Google play.

However, the biggest setback for Parler came when Amazon shut down the company from its servers, which in practice means that it is not possible to exist online until a new host server has been found.

On Sunday, however, the first sign of life came: On the site, John Matze writes that they aim to be back soon.

What is Parler?

Parler was founded in 2018 and has called itself a non-moderated alternative to Twitter and has been singled out as one of the platforms used to organize the storming of the US Capitolium.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said he is willing to let Parler's app come back to the App store if the company starts moderating the content on the platform.
