The parliamentarian called Antoshkin a legendary person, noting that those who worked with him can only be proud of this.

“He worked in spite of his age, in spite of the fact that after all the events his health suffered quite a serious blow.

He could give odds to much younger people.

Always very active, always participated, performed.

Most importantly, he did it with a sense of concern for the future.

It really was, ”he said.

Nikolayev noted that Antoshkin, in addition to his work in the State Duma, was doing "tremendous work" associated with the Heroes' Club, with holding events specifically for young people.

“Therefore, I think that a huge number of people who crossed paths with him now grieve and understand that he will be greatly missed,” the deputy concluded.

State Duma Deputy Hero of the Soviet Union Colonel General Nikolai Antoshkin died at the age of 80.

Antoshkin commanded an aviation group during the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

He personally took part in flights over the destroyed power unit.
