, the singer looks back on the difficult period of excess of all kinds that followed his success.

The Belgian punk icon, recognized by David Bowie and taken over by Sonic Youth, then began a descent into hell.

Excesses transform it, until it weighs more than 100 kilos.

His family life suffers and his two children lose interest in him completely.

"They thought I was ugly and really not interesting," Plastic Bertrand recalls.

"Without them, I wouldn't be here"

Until they stumbled upon their father's VHS tapes in concert, singing and jumping like crazy.

"They liked that", explains the singer.

“At that point, I had like a flash and I wanted to stop all this bullshit. I didn't want to miss the lives of my children and miss out on who they were going to become. They are the ones who made me. really saved. I wouldn't be here today otherwise. "

Today, out of excess, Plastic Bertrand is still with the same woman and attaches particular importance to his family.

“It’s my engine,” he says.
