Difficult circulation

Regarding traffic, conditions are difficult on certain Vosges passes.

They are often delicate elsewhere in the departments in orange.

At the end of the night, the snowfall continues the shift towards the south that it has started in recent hours.

They will weaken and little by little leave the departments of Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle and Bas-Rhin, but they still remain for a large part of the morning in the Vosges department, or even all of them. the morning in Haut-Rhin and in the Territoire de Belfort.

It will be necessary to wait until the beginning of the afternoon to see the last snowflakes leave the Alsatian south and the Territoire de Belfort.

Between the end of the night and the end of the morning, we still expect an additional one to four centimeters in the Vosges department (locally three to six centimeters in the Vosges mountains above 500 meters), three to eight additional centimeters in the Haut- Rhine and the Territory of Belfort.

Thinning

Further north, on the Ardennes, the Meuse, the Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Moselle as well as on the Bas-Rhin, the snowfall is about to stop (and it is even finished on the most further north): we only expect a small amount of snow, most often 0 to one centimeter, locally two more centimeters near Nancy, Strasbourg, Sarrebourg and Saverne.

As soon as the snowfall ends, temperatures drop sharply, resulting in a risk of wet roads re-freezing, possible re-freezing as early as Friday morning in places, then becoming generalized late Friday afternoon.

The weather will remain gloomy in the South-West with scattered rains in the plains and snow around 600/800 meters in the west of the Massif-Central, around 1000 meters in the Pyrenees.

A lot of clouds will also be present over the center-east of the country with a few flakes as far as the plain in the morning on the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes side, then the rain / snow limit will rise during the day around 400 meters above sea level.

In the afternoon, beautiful clearings will develop from Brittany and Normandy to Poitou.

Around the Mediterranean, the sky will hesitate between clouds and clearings with some showers on the Côte d'Azur and Corsica and some flakes on the relief of the island of beauty.

From the Lower Rhône Valley to Roussillon, the Mistral and Tramontane will blow up to 90 and 110 km / h respectively in gusts.
