The International Biennial of Circus Arts, which hoped to renew contact with spectators from January 21 to February 21 in Marseille and in the south-east of France, finally announced that it was giving up on Thursday, "a health crisis requires".
"This BIAC, which was to be a moment of reunion, will unfortunately not be able to meet the general public", announced the organizers in a press release, specifying that the "professional meetings" would be maintained, from 3 to 6 February then from February 10 to 13.

These days will make it possible to preserve one of the fundamentals of the event, "being a creation Biennale", with 20 shows which will thus be presented as a world premiere, the press release said.
The organizers of this 4th BIAC, an event born in 2015, however leave open the possibility of organizing certain shows in public "if the sanitary constraints allow it and if in particular the cultural places are authorized to reopen".
Even if the French government had not given a date for the reopening of the cultural places, the BIAC program was unveiled on December 18, with arrangements to reduce the gauges and adapted sanitary measures, such as the absence of catering. on the spot.
Sixty-eight shows were planned, including 29 premieres, by some sixty companies, including a dozen from abroad.
