On January 13, the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held a press conference. Wang Bin, the inspector of the CDC of the National Health Commission, responded to whether the epidemic will affect the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

She introduced that, on the whole, although there are some sporadic epidemics in different places in the country, the overall situation of epidemic prevention and control is good from a national perspective.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, China successively held the pre-certification activities of the National Snowmobile and Sled Center and the visit of the National Winter Sports Federation to China.

These tasks have provided useful experience for preparing for the winter games and the epidemic prevention and control of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

She said that the most critical measure to ensure the Winter Olympics is to implement normalized epidemic prevention and control measures.
