Both in fiction and documentary, crime and the judiciary have been popular themes in recent years, and countless series and podcasts have been made.

Some examples are the SVT series Jakten på en mördare (2020), and the podcasts P3 Dokumentär and Seriemördarpodden.

- There has always been an interest in crime and punishment, and especially in the podcast genre, it has really exploded in recent years, says Evalisa Wallin, host of P3 Krim.

And the heyday of the crime genre continues, because now Swedish radio is investing in another crime podcast that premieres today.

P3 Crimea will focus on current lawsuits and be broadcast weekly.

- The first episode is about the kidnapping of a great artist in the rap genre.

Several suspects have been arrested, but most attention was drawn to another artist who was arrested on New Year's Eve.

We will dive deep into what we know so far, and nerd ourselves into the evidence, says Evalisa Wallin, one of the presenters.

SVT is also launching a crime series, with a premiere on 17 January.

In the documentary series The Infiltrator, Peter Rätz talks about his work as an infiltrator in criminal networks and the threat it posed to him and his family.

Today he is in a secret place.

Why do crimes and punishments continue to fascinate, and what can another crime podcast add?
