Miyazaki Prefecture has issued its own state of emergency and demanded that restaurants shorten their business hours, but the prefecture is subject to lump-sum payments to business partners of restaurants newly established in the country. We also requested that local governments that are taking their own measures be added.

In response to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with the new coronavirus, Miyazaki Prefecture issued its own state of emergency on January 7, requesting restaurants to shorten their business hours to 8:00 pm, as well as citizens of the prefecture. I am seeking to refrain from going out.

Governor Kono announced on the 13th that he has no intention of requesting that Miyazaki Prefecture be added to the area covered by the government's state of emergency.

On the other hand, as the government has newly announced that the support measures for lump-sum payments to business partners of restaurants are limited to the areas where the government has declared a state of emergency, it is an original request like Miyazaki Prefecture. On the 13th, he requested the government together with Kumamoto and Okinawa prefectures to add the local governments that are doing this.

Governor Kono said, "Regardless of whether or not it is subject to the national declaration, local governments requesting shortening of business hours have a great impact on small and medium-sized businesses related to food and drink. Like Miyazaki, they are proactive in advance. Only local governments that have taken such measures should be given generous support. "
