Two Humboldt penguin babies were born this month at the Toba Aquarium in Toba City, Mie Prefecture, and are showing a cute appearance covered with fluffy hair.

About 50 Humboldt penguins are bred at the Toba Aquarium, and babies were born one after another on January 6th and 11th.

The two babies usually spend their time in the hive, protected by their parents, but can only be seen every day except rainy days, only during the weighing hours that take place after noon.

When they hatched, they weighed more than 80 grams, but when weighed on the 13th, they increased to 250 grams and 125 grams, respectively, indicating that both birds are growing steadily.

The baby was covered with gray fluffy hair, and the visitors watched the adorable figure looking around with anxiety.

A woman in her 60s said, "It was small and cute. It was nice to see my dad and mom growing up hard."

Mika Kita, a keeper of the Toba Aquarium, said, "I'm relieved that both of them were healthy babies. My eyes are open and I'm growing up well."
