Every Holocaust survivor around the world should be vaccinated.

As the “Jüdische Allgemeine” reports, this is the goal of a campaign by the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.

Minister Omer Yankelevich (Blue-White Alliance) commissioned the global Jewish volunteer organization Schalom Corps with the bureaucratic implementation of the vaccination campaign.

Donors are currently being sought for the program.

In addition, efforts are being made to support the two vaccine manufacturers Moderna and Pfizer.

Among other things, additional doses of vaccine should be purchased so that Israel's own vaccination campaign is not slowed down, and distributed to centers around the world.

Those who do not reach a vaccination center should be provided for through extra missions.

Notwithstanding a third corona lockdown, the number of infections in Israel has climbed to a new high.

This is the highest level since the pandemic began.

Overall, the number of those infected so far in the country exceeded half a million.

The proportion of positive tests was 7.6 percent.

For comparison: The German health authorities reported 12 802 new corona infections within one day on Tuesday.
