At Jodogahama, a tourist attraction in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, a pleasure boat that has been operating for nearly 60 years reached its final operation on the 11th due to deficits and aging ships, and many people missed the farewell. It was.

The pleasure boat that goes around Jodogahama in Miyako City has been operated by "Iwate Prefecture Kita Motor" since 1958, and it remains even after two of the three pleasure boats that were in the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake were washed away. We have continued to operate with one "16th Rikuchu Maru".

However, due to the continued deficit due to the decrease in the number of passengers and the aging of the ship, the operation will end in 11 days.

A commemorative ceremony was held at the landing site, and a local drum group performed, and we set out on the final cruise with about 130 passengers.

Passengers enjoyed the voyage by taking pictures of the intricately intricate cliffs of the ria coast and feeding the black-tailed gulls.

After a 40-minute cruise, the pleasure boat returned to the landing site, ending the 58-year history.

A woman in her 70s in Morioka said, "I'm very lonely to finish. I want to tell the boats and staff that I'm so tired."

Shigeyuki Sakamoto (72), who served as the captain for about 30 years, said, "I am impressed that many people have used Lastran. I am proud that I was able to continue safe and secure operation until the end."

In the future, Miyako City will build a new ship, solicit new destinations, and hope to resume operations from May next year.
