(Abu Muhammad) narrates the story of his suffering with illness, saying: “A year ago I felt very tired, lost weight, and was unable to eat or drink, so I went to a private hospital in Sharjah, and after the doctor examined me, he asked me to undergo medical examinations and tests.”

He continued: "The results of the x-rays and medical examinations that I conducted showed that I had health problems in the liver, and the doctor advised me to go to one of the specialized clinics."

He added, "I went to a hospital in Sharjah, and gave the doctor the results of the tests, x-rays and medical reports, but he asked me to do the tests again."

(Abu Muhammad) explained that the results of the tests showed that he suffers from decompensated cirrhosis, which is considered a chronic disease, in addition to inflammation of the bile ducts, and a liver transplant is necessary, because this type of disease does not help with treatment with drugs.

He added, "I told the doctor that I had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for 20 years, and he told me that one of the damages of diabetes is the failure of the liver."

(Abu Muhammad) reported that the doctor prescribed some painkillers and vitamins, in addition to sugar medicine, adding: “But last September, I felt a sudden fainting while I was eating dinner with my family, and my wife took me to the emergency department, and from there to the care department, because I fell into a coma. ».

He continued, "I stayed in the intensive care unit for 15 days, where I underwent surgery to link esophageal varices, and after that I gradually regained consciousness, and the doctor told me of the need for a liver transplant, otherwise I will lose my life."

(Abu Muhammad) added: “The doctor told me that he would send my medical reports to Cleveland Hospital in Abu Dhabi, to follow up on my health condition with them, and he told me that this type of surgery costs 800 thousand dirhams, and my financial situation is very difficult, and I cannot manage even a small part of the cost of my surgery. ».

The patient indicated that he works in a private institution in the Emirate of Dubai, with a salary of 20 thousand dirhams, from which 4000 dirhams go to his family in Sudan, and 2000 dirhams for rent, and he has a family of four, and he is the only provider for them, and the rest of his salary goes to the expenses of daily life.

He (Abu Muhammad) said: “The disease kills my body, and I am no longer able to bear the pain. I appeal to the people of good and merciful hearts to help me save the cost of the surgery to transplant the liver and save my life.”

Symptoms of hepatic failure

The onset of cirrhosis is often quite calm, so that the patient does not experience any symptoms or problems, but as the disease progresses, a feeling of weakness and disease is generated, with loss of appetite and nausea, in addition to weight loss, and muscle atrophy.
