Increasing the number in the intestine promotes health ... Nutritionist: You should take "probiotics"

Fermented foods like yogurt are among the sources rich in probiotics

Probiotics (microorganisms also known as "probiotics" or "probiotics") have extensive health benefits.

It stimulates the digestive process and strengthens the immune system.

The German nutritionist Astrid Donalis confirmed that the more probiotics in the intestine, the better for health, noting that their number can be increased through a greater intake of grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, potatoes and nuts.

She added that fermented foods such as yogurt and kefir were among the sources rich in probiotics as well.

Conversely, meat and sugar reduce the number of probiotics, and this also applies to some medicines such as antibiotics, inflammation inhibitors and psychiatric drugs.

Studies have indicated that the lack of probiotics in the intestine raises the risk of some diseases such as allergies, diabetes and mental illnesses such as depression.

The low number of probiotics in the body can be inferred through some symptoms such as bloating, constipation or diarrhea, in addition to feeling tired and frequent infection.

For her part, German pharmacist Ursula Zillerberg said that probiotics can be taken as a nutritional supplement, to treat some diseases such as diarrhea caused by taking antibiotics or to treat irritable bowel syndrome, especially if the syndrome causes constipation or pain.

Take into account probiotics at least 30 minutes before meals, in order for them to reach the intestine.

And Zillerberg cautioned against taking probiotics in the form of nutritional supplements without consulting a doctor.

In the long term, this could damage the intestinal flora, paving the way for digestive problems.

And she noted that probiotics are not suitable for those who take immunosuppressive drugs.
