“An irreparable grief happened: this morning, after a serious illness, a wonderful Russian painter, academician, wonderful writer, graduate and professor of our institute Valentin Mikhailovich Sidorov passed away,” the message on Facebook says.
The main place in the work of Sidorov is occupied by landscapes and genre works.
Among his works are "Clouds float over the earth", "Birds reached the south", "Holy mountain" and others.
His paintings are kept in the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum.
In 1987-2009 he headed the Union of Artists of Russia.
