Around 7:10 am on the 8th, at the railroad crossing in Obama, Yurihama Town, Tottori Prefecture, a JR rapid train heading for Yonago City collided with a light passenger car that was stuck in the railroad crossing.



According to police, a man in his twenties who was driving a car evacuated just before the collision and was safe, and 26 people, including train passengers and crew, were not injured.



At the time of the accident, snow was piled up inside the railroad crossing, and when a light passenger car tried to cross the railroad track, the tires slipped and could not move.



A man who drove a car told NHK that he was stuck in the snow at the railroad crossing and collided with the train immediately after getting out of the car to escape.



Police are investigating the situation of the accident.



Due to this accident, the JR San-in Main Line could not be operated for more than 2 hours on the up and down lines between Tottori Station and Kurayoshi Station.
