Three alleged organizers of the illegal New Year's rave party in Brittany, arrested in recent days in western France, have been indicted and placed under judicial control, the Rennes prosecutor's office announced on Friday.

A first alleged organizer, a young man of 22, was indicted and imprisoned on Monday.

In total "four men aged 26 to 31", were arrested Wednesday in Loire-Atlantique for three of them and for the fourth in Indre-et-Loire, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Rennes Philippe Astruc in a statement.

Presented Friday to the investigating judges in charge of the investigation "three of them were indicted by heads of organizations without prior declaration of a festive gathering of a musical nature in an undeveloped space", underlines Philippe Astruc .

Among the other charges: "degradation or deterioration of the property of others with break-in, endangering others by manifestly deliberate violation of a regulatory obligation of safety or prudence", also "opening without declaration prior to drinking ”,“ concealed work ”,“ aid in the use by others of narcotics ”.

According to the prosecutor, these three suspects "were placed, on compliant requisitions from the prosecution, under judicial control" and "a fourth person was placed under the status of assisted witness".

According to Philippe Astruc, these people who live in shared accommodation "are known to the courts" for infringements of the legislation on narcotics and "declare to have been present at the free party of Lieuron", south of Rennes, but "deny on the other hand have participated in the organization of the event ”.

"However, one of the detainees admits having helped organize the parking lot in the early evening on December 31, 2020," according to the Rennes prosecutor.

According to Philippe Astruc, “professional equipment that can be used for organizing parties” and cash - several thousand euros, a large part of which in coins - were seized during searches of their home.

Banned by the prefect, a rally of "support for the accused" scheduled for Saturday in Rennes was canceled Friday by the support committees "in the face of threats of criminal sanctions".
