This is not new, George Clooney is not particularly a fan of Donald Trump.

But since the invasion of the Capitol by the supporters of the American president, encouraged by the latter, the actor seems to redouble his contempt for the current tenant of the White House.

In an interview for

The Business

podcast

, on KCRW, the

Ocean's 11

star shared

his thoughts on the situation.

“It's a monumental abuse of power.

Everyone expected to see outrageous acts from him but every time he did something it pushed the boundaries and no one was shocked anymore, even when he called Georgie's secretary to lobby.

Nothing mattered anymore.

But this event was important, ”he said, obviously very angry.

"The dustbin of History"

George Clooney goes even further, claiming that this event gives Donald Trump a special place in American political history.

“It puts Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, all of them, it puts them in the dustbin of history.

This name will forever be associated with the insurgency.

It made a huge difference.

So if that's what allows us to get back on track, I don't want to say it's worth the effort, that's not the case at all, but maybe in a way, we can find a reason to see a ray of hope after this disaster, ”he adds.

The first clue that things seem to be moving against Donald Trump: the US president has already lost access to Twitter for 12 hours, and Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the outgoing president will no longer be able to post on Facebook until further notice.
