On the afternoon of January 6, local time, hundreds of protesters gathered in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, to demonstrate in support of Trump and to put pressure on the ongoing joint congressional meeting.

Subsequently, the demonstrations turned to violent tendencies. Some demonstrators entered the U.S. Congressional area and breached the Capitol. The congressmen have been evacuated urgently.

Leaders of many countries expressed their views on this.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated, "Since the United States advocates democracy in all parts of the world, it should transfer power in a peaceful and orderly manner."

Norwegian Prime Minister Solbe said, “The scene in Washington, DC is incredible.”

European Parliament Speaker Sassoli said, “The scene that took place in the US Capitol tonight is deeply worrying. The Democratic Party’s vote must be respected.”

Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez said, "Biden will overcome this period of tension and unite the American people."

Charles Michel, President of the European Council, said, "I believe the United States can transfer power to Mr. Biden peacefully."

French Foreign Minister Derian said, “violence is a serious attack on democracy. I condemn it. The wishes and votes of the American people must be respected.”

Australian Prime Minister Morrison condemned the "painful scenes" and said he looked forward to a peaceful transfer of power.
