A vaccine strategy to defend

Accompanied by Alain Fischer, the "Mr Vaccines" of the government, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health intend to defend the French vaccination campaign, after many criticisms of its start to the drip.

The government has promised to accelerate, in particular by allowing without delay all health professionals over 50 or at risk to receive the famous injection in hospitals, and no longer only residents and staff of nursing homes.

Olivier Véran, who will be heard on January 12 by the Senate Social Affairs Committee, also plans to open vaccination, before the end of January, in dedicated centers in town, to all people over 75 years old.

In a note, issued by the interministerial crisis unit and drafted by its services that Europe 1 was able to consult, he asks the regional health agencies to identify, with the prefects, at least three centers per department to develop vaccination in city ​​and welcome priority audiences there. 

"We are opening 100 centers for the city," then "we will open 300 next week and 500 the following week," also said government spokesman Gabriel Attal.

About 12,500 vaccinations were carried out this Wednesday, against 5,000 late Tuesday afternoon, according to the office of the Minister of Health.

More than 25,000 new contaminations in 24 hours

According to the latest report from Public Health France, France had 66,565 dead on Wednesday since the start of the epidemic, including 46,263 in hospitals and 20,302 in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments.
