[Commentary] On January 7, Beijing held a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

At the meeting, Gao Xiaojun, a first-level inspector and press spokesperson of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, said that as the Spring Festival holiday approaches, the flow of people will gradually increase. In order to prevent and control the epidemic, citizens are encouraged not to leave Beijing or leave the country unless necessary.

With the approaching of the Spring Festival holiday, the number of mobile activities of citizens and friends visiting relatives and friends, gatherings and dinners began to increase, and the epidemic prevention and control work in the capital is facing a major challenge.

Therefore, we have not only mentioned it once, advocating that everyone must not leave the country or leave Beijing to minimize the movement of people and reduce the risk of the epidemic.

[Explanation] Recently, a new crown pneumonia epidemic occurred in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province and other places.

Gao Xiaojun reminded that since December 10, 2020, people who have lived in (returned) to Beijing from high-risk areas such as Shijiazhuang City and Xingtai City in Hebei Province should immediately report to the community and units and cooperate with the jurisdiction to implement control measures.

If symptoms such as fever, fatigue, dry cough, etc. occur, wear a medical mask in time to go to the nearest medical institution, which is what we usually call a fever clinic, and actively inform the medical staff of their travel history and contact history to facilitate timely investigation.

[Explanation] Talking about the difficulties encountered by people from Shijiazhuang, Xingtai and other places in making appointments for nucleic acid testing, Gao Xiaojun pointed out that relevant departments have already put forward work requirements, and those who make appointments for testing should not be excused.

Citizens who are interested in nucleic acid testing can make an appointment through the 114 appointment registration platform, the websites of various testing institutions, or apps.

We have also put forward work requirements. For personnel from Shijiazhuang City, Xingtai City and other places, we must try our best to meet their appointment testing needs, without prevarication, and truly willing to conduct inspections.
