5 people diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia in Hong Kong Princess Margaret Hospital, more than 60 people identified as close contacts

  On January 5, according to the Health Protection Center of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Hong Kong Princess Margaret Hospital was experiencing internal transmission of the new crown virus.

  A long-term patient was treated in the day ward of the internal medicine department of the hospital, and was later diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.

Later, the hospital had four more preliminary confirmed cases, including two patients and two medical staff.

  Yu Huiling, Chief Administrative Manager (Medical Effectiveness and Technology Management) of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, said that Princess Margaret Hospital is currently conducting contact tracing. More than 40 patients and more than 20 medical staff have been listed as close contacts and will undergo quarantine arrangements. .
