At the Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in Mikuni Town, Sakai City, a small shrine is set up in the outdoor plaza every year at this time of year to perform the "Hatsumode" of penguins.

"Penguins' first visit" means that two types of penguins, "Humboldt penguins" and "King penguins", will be held three times a day at the Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in Sakai City until the 11th of this month.
