Politics has an unavoidable and sometimes dangerous emotional component.
From the Panopticon it is seen that ambition, patriotism, resentment, indignation, hatred, solidarity, or enthusiasm explain many historical facts.
Today I want to talk about political nostalgia.
Nostalgia
is a new word.
Entered the Dictionary of the RAE in 1884.
Originally, it was sadness for being far from one's own country.
The passion of the exile
.
Later, it spread to everything far away that is considered good, for example, childhood.
Nostalgia is a mechanism that embellishes what is longed for.
The nationalist movements - also the Spanish movements - were always nostalgic.
In his memory shines
the image of a golden age, which almost never existed, of a distant homeland, which one aspires to recover
.
Therefore, they all end up adorning the story.
It is inevitable, because emotions have their relentless dynamism, which we must know in order not to be managed by their powerful and false evidence.
