, one of the organizers of the rave party, which gathered around 2,500 people between Thursday evening and Saturday morning in Lieuron south of Rennes, reacted to the controversy over the holding of this party illegal in the midst of a health crisis.

The young man assures to understand "very well that it can shock" but he assumes.

“We need to get all this shit out of our minds,” he says.

We knew it was against the rules, but we wanted to do it regardless of the consequences.

We don't regret anything, if it was to be done, we would do it again ”.

Living in Rennes, this truck driver also claims that prevention stands had been set up to distribute masks and hydroalcoholic gel to the participants of the party.

“There was everything you needed,” says the young man.

Afterwards, whoever wanted to wear his mask, he wore his mask.

And the one who did not want to have it, he did not wear it ”.

Eight people in police custody and 1,645 verbalizations

Following the rave party, which ended on Saturday morning with the intervention of the gendarmes, a judicial investigation was opened by the Rennes prosecutor's office.

Eight people have so far been arrested.

They were still in police custody on Saturday evening.

Among them, two 22-year-olds who are suspected of being part of the organizers of this illegal party.

A search of their home made it possible to seize "a sum of money, appearing at first glance to result from the sharing of the fund for this event", as well as "narcotics, important sound equipment and a heavy vehicle", details the public prosecutor of Rennes in a press release.

During the dispersal of the party, 1,645 offenses were also drawn up "including 1,225 linked to Covid and 225 linked to the use of narcotics", Philippe Astruc said on Saturday evening.
