On the same day, at the newly built Nyingchi Railway Station on the Niyang River in Nyingchi City, Tibet, the last section of the Lhasa-Nyingchi section of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway (Lalin Railway) was successfully laid, which marked the completion of the 399.61-kilometer main line of the Lalin Railway. The history of no railways in the southeast of Tibet ended.

The Lalin Railway starts from Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, and ends in Nyingchi City. The main line is 435.5 kilometers long and the newly-built main line is 403.1 kilometers. It is the first electrified railway in Tibet with a design speed of 160km/h. The entire line is planned for June 2021. It was completed and opened to traffic on the 30th.
