An employee of a vaccination center in the USA is said to have deliberately rendered 500 doses of a corona vaccine unusable.
The person took the ampoules out of the refrigerator in the evening and allowed them to thaw, the Aurora Medical Center announced.
Because they had not been refrigerated for too long when this was discovered that morning, they could no longer be used.
At first, the clinic assumed an accident, but then the person admitted to having deliberately exposed the ampoules, she said on Wednesday.
A possible motive was not mentioned.

A test of the woman was positive for the virus variant on Wednesday.
She had apparently been infected from her partner, who fell ill after a business trip to the UK in December.
Since the woman had already tested positive for Corona before Christmas, the close contacts had already been released from quarantine.
The health authorities have now arranged for the close contacts to be tested again in order to minimize the risk of spread.
